May I have a moment of silence, please.

Thank you.

That was due to the sad fact that a favorite restaurant in 3 generations in our family Bar Filemon at Fuengirola, Spain has closed its doors for good, unfortunately. That means you gotta find the goodies from some place else...

Hmmmm, I know some places where to go! For example;

  • Next door from Filemon. It has changed the owner, but still serve good Spanish seafood goodies, pescados y mariscos.
  • Around the corner from Filemon.
  • At the Fuengirola Marina is Fran that has been a good option also earlier.
...and of course new places come and go all the time, go out and try them!

Muchas gracias Antonio, staff and particulary your son from the little extra deed!

Then I of course need to give a tip;
If you fancy a beer that is a bit stronger in taste and perhaps in other ways too, check out Bar Belga in the same corners at Fuengirola. It's in the city, few leaps from the sea front with a very friendly couple hosting it so go and check it out. They are also in Facebook.

My favorite beer from Belgium?
...well, in principle all of them. However, if I'd need to pick one single beer, the only that I am allowed to drink during the rest of my life, it would be Hoegaarden.

Salud!

Happy All Star Valentine's Day - Hyvää All Star Ystävänpäivää!

I came across with a fantastic-dirty-realistic picture about tomorrow Friday February 14th, the Valentine's Day. Yep, it is also the weekend of the NBA All Star Games played in New Orleans.

A Facebook site for basketball lovers posted this realistic picture, that nicely describes the (potential) difference of expectations that different parties involved might have.

If you have not been successful with your weekend arrangements, I have:
In next few days I'm going to watch a pro basketball game, pro football game, as well as a competitive junior football (soccer) game. With Mrs! ...not a bad Valentine's Day weekend I'd say :oD

Safety tip for Sochi Olympics: Safe Sports Solution at Vantaa, Finland

I live in Finland, which can be considered one of the safest corners in Europe. But no, today this is not only pink foam, good spirit and happiness for all of us. Otherwise one would think the signs like below would not be needed at a Tikkurila sports arena at Vantaa, Finland.

Remember to leave your guns and steak knives at home when going to watch a basketball, handball or futsal game...!

At Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 www.sochi.ru they have apparently 60.000 security guard, police and military people to protect the athletes, officials and fans. Damn expensive solution when you could do the same with few stickers.

PS The corner of the image on the right side is from Helsinki Olympic Games 1952, turning spot of the marathon run with Emil Zatopek in the picture.

PPS Finland has opened the medal flow at Sochi, Enni Rukajärvi won silver at women's slopestyle - HYVÄ ENNI!!!
